News Announcements

Ajax USA is an extremely reliable source for Ajax news in English. We never run unconfirmed rumors as news. All of our news reports are independently written, but confirmed by either AFC Ajax, usually via their official website Ajax.nl, or by one of the highly regarded Dutch media sources that are generally deemed reliable:

  • national daily newspapers de Volkskrant, NRC Handelsblad or Trouw
  • daily Amsterdam tabloid Het Parool
  • leading soccer magazine Voetbal International
  • TV networks NOS (national and non-commercial) or AT5 (regional Amsterdam network), or their respective teletext services

Match Reports

All of our match reports are independently written by one of our staff members. The author has always personally watched the game in its entirety, in most cases at the stadium, sometimes on television. If none of our staff is able to see the full game (which only happens in the event of some pre-season fixtures and friendly games outside Amsterdam) we will base our report on the match reports published on Ajax.nl and/or the news sources listed above - and credit the source used at the bottom of the report.

Statistics and facts about the goals scored, attendance, referee, bookings and line-ups are always taken from one of the reliable sources mentioned above.

Special Features

We are proud of our sometimes unique content. Our profile of the Ajax youth system, our Ajax history (including the monthly series 15 Years Ago), our interviews, our profiles of Eredivisie opponents and our ticket purchasing information page are exclusive and independently written by members of our staff. The facts in those features are always taken from reliable sources, including AFC Ajax and its official website, Ajax.nl.

The articles in our From The Desk Of... section are also independently written, by either staff members or guest writers. Note that these installments are in some cases columns, in which the author expresses a personal opinion. These opinions must not be regarded as the viewpoint of Ajax USA.

Our presentation of the book Ajax, de Joden, Nederland is a literal translation of a selection of chapters from the Dutch original to English. The author, Simon Kuper, granted Ajax USA exclusive permission to translate and re-publish his work.

News Links

Ajax USA also provides links to English language news reports on several soccer and sports websites on our home page. We have found that some of those websites present unconfirmed rumors as official news. Therefore, while we link to on-line news sources for your information, we do not report news from those sources as fact until and unless it is confirmed by one of the more reliable sources mentioned above.

We realize that some unconfirmed rumors, or even gossip, may be of interest to visitors of Ajax USA. Therefore, our staff members regularly post rumors and unconfirmed Ajax news -- and declare it to be such -- in our discussion forum at Soccerpages.com.

Feedback

We are very proud and protective of our reputation as a reliable news source. If you find a factual error on our website, or if we infringe on intellectual property rights of any kind, please send email to editor@ajax-usa.com. We will be happy to double-check our sources and - if necessary - correct our reports or give credit accordingly.
