Bobson sold, Hersi loaned out to NAC Breda
02 July: Ajax.nl has confirmed the transfer of 20 year-old
left winger, Kevin Bobson, to Eredivisie side NAC from Breda.
Ajax and NAC have already reached an agreement. NAC and Bobson
are currently working out the formal details. The contract will
be officially signed later this week.
Bobson only played eight games for Ajax-1 and had a contract
through June, 2003. Ajax coach, Co Adriaanse, wanted Bobson to
move to Ajax' First Divison satellite club, Haarlem, but Bobson
refused to go. He was banned from Adriaanse's A-squad and was
told to go at the end of the season. No details have been
revealed about the transfer fee.
18 year-old central midfielder, Youssouf Hersi, will join
Bobson in moving to Breda, albeit on a one year loan. Hersi
also played eight games for Ajax-1 so far, but was deemed not
quite ready for the job yet. Adriaanse initially wanted him to
play for Haarlem for a while, but later sustained Hersi's
request to find an Eredivisie club instead. SC Heerenveen was
said to be interested in having Hersi for one season, but this
was never confirmed.
At NAC, one of the Bobson's competitors for a position in
the starting line-up is Ajax veteran Bryan Roy (31), also a
left footed forward.
Last week, technical director Leo Beenhakker who will
not be part of this season's first selection. After left back,
Tom Sier, Kevin Bobson is the second one leaving. (MP)
