Rendezvous in Amsterdam 2005 - FAQ

RENDEZVOUS IN AMSTERDAM 2005
Does Ajax USA help with travel and hotel
arrangements?
Not really. You are responsible for getting yourself to and
from Amsterdam, and with making your own hotel arrangements.
But we do recommend a couple of
hotels, if that is helpful.
Are kids welcome on the Ajax USA trip?
Yes! The Ajax USA Rendezvous experience is definitely
kid-friendly! I brought my seven-year-old son last year, and he
had a blast! I'm bringing my six-year-old son this time.
Amsterdam is a very kid-friendly city, with lots of great
things to do in between all the Ajax-fun.
Where do you get the match tickets?
We buy our tickets from TicketUnlimited, a legitimate
ticket re-seller. Buying as a group, well in advance, gets
us a better deal. But you can get your ticket directly from
Ajax, from TicketUnlimited, or by other means and still join
us. (See next question.)
If I do not buy a match ticket
through Ajax USA, can I still join you for the other
activities?
Absolutely! We offer the ticket purchases as a service, but
any Ajax fans are welcome to the other events (History Tour,
Arena Day, etc.) whether or not you get your Ajax match tickets
elsewhere or not at all. There's no charge or need to 'reserve'
a space for the non-match events. Just drop us an email letting
us know that you don't need a match ticket but do want to join
us for other activities.
How much are the tickets?
The match tickets are expected to be approximately €60
each. We won't know the exact amount until we are ready to
place our group order at the end of February.
After submitting the down-payment, how and when will
I pay the balance on my match ticket?
You will be asked to pay the balance due for your match
ticket(s) in CASH EUROS upon arrival in the Netherlands. The
good news about that is: We won't be holding a large chunk of
your change for the weeks prior to the trip.
What is different about sending the down-payment in
US dollars versus in Euros?
You are welcome to send your down-payment either in dollars,
to Jim, or in Euros, to Menno. Anyone sending a down-payment in
$US to Jim will also have to cover the cost of converting those
dollars to Euros. You'll be asked for an additional euro
or two when you pay your balance in cash Euros later.
Again, this is to cover fees. Ajax USA keeps none of your
money.
Where are the seats?
Last year, we had pretty good seats in the lower
ring behind the goal opposite the "F-Side". We will
probably get similar seats this year, but there's no guarantee
about that.
Will we be sitting all together as a
group?
We will not be sitting all together!
TicketUnlimited does their best to give us tickets in the
same section, but we'll probably be spread out in groups of 4,
3, 2 or even the occasional single seat.
Can I still get a ticket if I don't get my
down-payment to you by the end of February?
Yes. We expect to place an additional ticket order in
early March. It's likely that the second ticket order will cost
slightly more per ticket, and the seats might not be
as good. But we're pretty much guessing about that at this
point.
What else do need to know?
Do you have a passport? If not, you'd better take care of
that immediately, as it takes a few weeks to get. And please
note that photo identification is required at the
ArenA gates for every Ajax game. You must carry your passport
or driver's license with you to every game. We recommend you
bring both documents to Amsterdam.
